Chikoo milkshake recipe, sapota milkshake

May 26, 2011 by Raks Anand 49 Comments /

Sapota-milkshakeChikoo milkshake, sapota milkshake a healthy I love chikoo fruit very much, but trying chikoo milkshake for the very first time, loved it! My kid too loved it… The chikku we get here in local markets is so very different from our Indian Chiku. What we get in local market is Vietnam chiku, its firm, smooth and large rather than our Indian fruit, which is soft and a kind of grainy in texture. After mom’s endless advice to consume this fruit(one among a set of ‘to eat healthy things’ advices…hehe) I bought both the chikkus we get here. Anyway I used the Air flown Indian chikoo for this, that I bought from Mustafa…

Ingredients:

Chilled milk1 cup
Chikku/sapota fruit3
Vanilla Ice cream1 scoop

Method:

    1. Peel and remove the seeds from chikoo chop it. You can cut into two, use a spoon to scoop the pulp in easy way. Take the seeds out.
    2.  Take the fruit pulp and ice cream together in a blender along with milk.
    3. Blend it well until smooth and enjoy it when it is still chill .

Try this simple yet yummy milkshake for your kid returning from school or your breakfast, its very filling and hearty!

Notes

  • For low fat version, use low fat milk, skip ice cream and add little sugar or honey.

I think I too love the Indian variety for the grainy texture. It adds crunch to the milkshake. Though it is truly healthy to consume fruits as such, it is always a welcome change to have milkshakes that too with icecream!
