Microwave eggless fudge mug cake easy and quick to whip up. Step by step pictures and full video recipe. Quick fix for your chocolate craving.

I had few Toblerone chocolates lying in fridge for long time to finish and have this recipe also in my to try list for a while now. So made use of both and prepared this microwave fudge cake. This is very easy to prepare, quick fix for your chocolate craving. Though it’s a mug cake, two people can share this one as it’s quite sweet. This cake has no cooking soda or baking soda in it. Please excuse the look of the mug as it’s prepared and cooked in the mug itself. Mug cakes are supposed to look the same, so bear with it, haha.

Microwave eggless chocolate fudge mug cake tips

I used toblerone chocolate, so the texture was good. Likewise, if you use chocolate chips or baking chocolate, it will slightly vary.

Using wheat flour will affect the texture, it turns dense. Increase milk accordingly if it is too thick batter.

Craving for chocolate?

  • Chocolate almond clusters
  • Chocolate covered strawberries
  • 2 ingredient chocolate mousse

Servings 1
Cup measurements

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp All purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Coco powder
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 3 tbsp Oil I used virgin coconut oil
  • 2 drops Vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsp Chocolate chips or any chopped chocolate –

Instructions

  • Gather all the ingredients needed. Combine flour, sugar and coco in a mug.
  • Add milk, oil, essence and mix until blend together. Add the chocolate chips lastly and mix.
  • Microwave in high for 2 mins (Mine is 700W).

Video

Notes

  • Please use only neutral tasting oil like refined sunflower oil. I love coconut oil in my cake, so I used it. It goes well with chocolate flavour.
  • You can use pepper mint essence in place of vanilla for a change.
  • Do not microwave more than mentioned time.  It will harden like rock.
  • Please use microwave – able& mugs only.
  • If you want to bake, bake at 180 deg C for 15 mins or until toothpick comes out clean.

* You can replace all purpose flour (maida) with wheat flour too

The cake looks easy and tasty, but I think it is the first pic in your blog which is not perfect. I even think your very first picture, Sukhiyan, was good.

I agree with you and I have admitted myself about it in my post itself, if you have read.
Though I myself have not liked the picture, I would like you to image search for 'Mug cake' Most of it will be messy only.

Hi, thanks for such a quick recipe. I have one doubt when you say microwave in high, does that mean the maximum available for heating? and you say 700 W. In my oven I can set power only to 100.

Yes, my microwave is 700 watt microwave. In that, I have chose microwave high (full power) So I guess you should choose 100 percent.

Looks like you are over mixing the batter, so do not beat for long time. Just mix using spoon or if whisk, do it only to mix everything, not beat for long time. Reduce the cooking time and try. May be your microwave is 1000 Watts. I have tried this recipe few times, and I am sure this will turn out good. Hope this helps you

Hi raji..tried this recipe during the weekend. This is the 1st time I am using my microwave and hence chose this easy recipe. It was perfectly baked and we enjoyed it a lot. Just have a query. Can the quantity of cocoa powder be slightly reduced. I felt my cake was little bitter.i used cadbury bournville cocoa. Is the taste supposed to be like that, as this is the 1st time i am using cocoa powder. Your suggestions please.

It is not supposed to be on bitter side. It happens even when you 'over bake' it.

Thank you Raji for the response. My microwave is 800 W power.I still baked for 2 minutes as in your recipe. So guess i have overbaked it as you have mentioned. Will try next time with lesser time. Thanks.

I hope you did not missed chocolate chips (sweetened will be perfect) or chopped chocolate in the recipe as I have used some chopped toblerone. It could be this part where the result could have changed, depending on which brand/variety you used. let me know if you need further clarification.
