I have to admit Mango milkshake is not my favorite, that’s because I am not a big fan of mango. But not any more.

This mango season, I have changed a bit! I love the Banganapalli mangoes we get here in Singapore. It’s so so sweet and yummy!

Actually I feel a bit awkward every time to tell people that I am not a mango fan, that too being brought up in Salem, which is known for mangoes!!

But seriously I have not seen that much mangoes in Salem. May be I am not aware those days…

And all of a sudden, I am now liking mangoes. But always I used to love frooti, maaza and slice. Even now, I can drink bottles!

And when my in-laws came here last month, they bought few banganapalli mangoes from there.

Some of them were too soft to handle, so collected them as pulp and made milkshake for everyone. Simple and yummy!

Now I know why they call mango as king of fruits πŸ™‚Β  Will meet you all soon again with a wonderful recipe, till then hang on with this seasonal simple milkshake recipe πŸ™‚

    FAQs

    Can we store leftovers?

As mango is acidic and we blend with milk, I suggest to drink immediately. Atleast within 3 hours when stored in refrigerator.

    Which mango to use?

I used banganapalli variety. It has awesome flavor but color is not bright and vibrant.

Alphonsos work best both flavor and color wise.

Basically you can use any mango that is ripe. Just that according to the sweetness and sourness, you can adjust sugar and milk you are adding.

Can I use tinned mango pulp?

Yes you can go ahead. They are sweetened most of the times, so you can skip sugar.

    Variations

This is super basic shake without even ice cream. But what if you want to add ice cream in this recipe?

Definitely you can! Add 1 or 2 scoops of a good quality real ice cream - be it vanilla or mango.

You can skip sugar as ice cream has enough sweet in it.

Want to add ice cubes? Go ahead and add a cup of ice cubes and blend well so that it gives you a thicker shake.

    My notes

I use pasteurized milk which have almost 2 weeks expiry. So I understand it is stabilized homogenized milk.

If you are living in country like India and use fresh milk, I suggest to boil the milk, cool and refrigerate before using to avoid curdling.

Especially when we do it without ice cream.
