Murukku recipes – Collection of Diwali special murukku recipes, traditional as well as innovative south Indian murukku varieties. Thenkuzhal murukku, potato murukku, butter murukku and many more.
I am a big fan of snacks, especially the different varieties of murukku prepared at home. Of course, love store bought murukku as well, it is totally different in taste and flavor. On the other hand, homemade murkku has unique flavor, taste and less oily.
Especially the asafoetida flavor in murukku like thenkuzhal is the best part which I love about it. Especially, potato murukku, the first ever murkku I posted in my blog, is my favorite recipe.
It is the recipe I learnt from my MIL, an easy as well as different recipe which I learnt after marriage. Mullu murukku with coconut milk that amma makes is one that is different one.
Mom and MIL makes a murkku in padi quantity always big family because, we all love snacking. For that reason, big drums, vaali (containers) will be filled with these snacks.
These days since nuclear family, we just make with just 2 cups of flour maximum. In fact, mostly with store bought rice flours and lentil flours. Where as mom, MIL grinds either in mixer or in mills. Kudos to them, we can never match their patience as well as interest in terms of cooking.
