Peas pulao no onion no garlic recipe

peas pulao no onion no garlic

Peas pulao, no onion no garlic recipe, I have prepared pulao using open pot cooking method. Gives fluffy, separate grains. Step by step pictures recipe.

Usually I make peas pulao in pressure cooker as I have posted already. It is with ginger garlic paste and onion. I wanted to try this way of pulao for a long time. I have made puloa in kadai/ pan few times, but it was also absorbing method, where water is added in ratio should be measured and added accordingly.

In open pot method, excess starch is discarded along the water, so less sticky rice. At the same time have few things to be understood, followed and kept in mind. Aj loved this peas pulao and he took second serving and I knew it just because of this method. And best part is no need to cut onion and worry about ginger garlic paste. Hope this will be useful to many for coming Navratri days.

Some FAQs

How to get long grain of the cooked basmati rice?

A perfectly cooked basmati rice will fluff to it’s longest length. If it is undercooked (in this case – open pot method) it may not be looking it’s fullest looks.

My cooked basmati rice breaks, why?

If it is under cooked or not given proper standing time, there are chances for breaking grains. So cook until you do not see strips in the grain that looks un even. It should look even in colour.

Can I cook in absorption method instead?

Yes sure. You can cook it in absorption method. Please refer my Kashmiri pulao recipe.

Why my basmati rice looks dull in colour, not white?

Look for a good quality basmati rice to buy. Also old/ aged basmati rice looks dull in colour comparitively. Wash several times, soak the rice to eliminate some. Adding few drops of lemon juice while cooking also helps.

Please go through the notes for tips and tricks before trying peas pulao recipe.
