Smashed cucumber salad juicy, spicy and fragrant. Perfect way to jazz up a salad for summer.

I loved how cool and fancy the name is and loved the 'smashing' part very much 😀 So satisfying to make the salad. Not a big fan of vinegar smell. I have tried drinking apple cider vinegar and could not after couple of days as I hated the pungent smell. The recipe I saw took me to the source recipe which called for rice vinegar. I had only apple cider vinegar, so used it.

When I was making it, not so sure how it would taste. but along the other ingredients, it tasted so good. Usually we eat cucumber just with salt, pepper. Quite a different way to eat cucumber. Instead of sugar, you can use natural sweeteners like maple syrup, honey etc. Add a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds before serving.
I have used ingredients according to the size of my cucumber (small), please adjust as needed. Check out the other salad recipes.
