South Indian weekly lunch planner

South Indian tamil lunch planner

Planning your week’s lunch ahead according to the vegetable you purchase over weekend is a great idea for a hassle free cooking throughout the week. Everyday cooking becomes so much easier when you plan and prepare ahead in the weekend.

Since I am a south Indian tamil, my weekly menu has majorly south Indian tamil recipes. I occasionally make north Indian or other cuisine for lunch as that’s my family’s preference. So these weekly everyday lunch planners will be according to that.
I struggle many times to finish off the vegetables we buy in the weekend or keep dragging to start cooking lunch. I realised if we plan the menu ahead we can finish off the cooking also easily. When I share lunch menu ideas, many of you requested to post simple everyday menu as the lunch menu ideas are bit elaborate. So here are some simple ideas for a week.

Keep this as a guidance and change it according to your family preference and the vegetables available.
If you are a office goer, you can prep the veggies and refrigerate according to the menu you have planned with little help from anyone in your family.
If you stay at home, still you can plan a menu for a week with the vegetables available, you can do the prep before day night or leisure time if you have any/ if you want to.
I have given only for weekdays, weekends you can be lenient and take a break from cooking by either ask someone from your family to cook some simple meal or ask them to accompany and help you atleast so that it will not be boring for your as well as gives you some relaxed feeling.
You can keep the weekend menu according to your need. If you find your weekday meals itself too much complex and want to keep it simple, like having a brunch, make one pot meals, simple comfort food or lunch out. Or if you feel the weekday cooking simple, cook something special and make an elaborate meal. You can refer my lunch menu ideas.
I mostly plan my lunch alone and keep breakfast and dinner flexible according to the leftovers. I mostly have idli dosa batter or something I cook for lunch box with which I can manage breakfast/ dinner.
I will keep sharing more ideas/ tips along with my weekday menus in upcoming weeks. Stay tuned 🙂.
