Hot chocolate recipe that is rich, tasty and a treat for all chocolate lovers. Just 3 main ingredients for a perfect cup of hot chocolate. Coco powder, sugar and milk. Few drops of vanilla for flavour.

I always make microwave single serving hot chocolate for me, as it is easy to prepare and quick too. Never tried stove top hot chocolate. I got request from a reader friend for stove top recipe. I have tried this way for quite a few times since then and turns out perfect, rich and lip smacking.
You cannot mix everything and make a perfect cup of hot chocolate, few careful steps will make sure you get proper tasting hot cocoa. I always loved my version of hot chocolate though I have tasted in Coffee bean and Marriot Pune. It could be because of my sweet tooth. Yes, I need extra sweet hot chocolate. The recipe I followed from the container of the coco powder was perfect for me.
Happy Valentines Day everyone, spread love 💟😍

Ingredients

  • Cocoa powder (unsweetened) – 2 tbsp
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp
  • Milk – 2 cups
  • Vanilla essence – 3 drops
  • Salt – 1 pinch

Instructions:

  1. In a heavy bottomed vessel mix coco powder, sugar, salt with 1/4 cup hot water.
  2. Heat in medium flame until the sugar melts and the mixture starts to boil. It takes roughly 2 mins.
  3. While the flame is in low or medium, add milk and heat for just a minute or two. Add vanilla essence. Do not boil after adding milk, just continue heating until the milk gets hot.

Tips

  •  Never prepare hot cocoa in high flame. This could break the milk and looks grainy.
  • Sugar can be adjusted according to your taste.
