Sweet lassi recipe

Sweet lassi is made with plain yogurt and sugar as main ingredients. Usually, rose water is added for a pleasant flavor. Malai is added traditionally for richness.

  • ¾ cup Fresh made curd
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 2 Rose essence optional


  • Use chilled curd – not sour preferably, for perfect sweet lassi. Use the whipping blade in your mixie for a frothy result.
  • Add curd, milk and sugar to the blender.
  • In goes powdered cardamom and 2 drops of essence.
  • Whip for a minute or until everything blends well and becomes frothy. Pour to a chilled serving glass to serve.


  • You can use panneer (Rose water) instead of essence.
  • 1 or 2 tblsp Malai is added in this sweet lassi for rich taste. 
  • You can place few ice cubes in the serving glass and pour on top of it. Best taste when had super cold.
  • At times, I like to add even some cream for richer taste.
