- ½ cup Whole green gram Pachai Payaru /paasi payaru
- 3 tablespoon Jaggery
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ cup Grated coconut
- 1 teaspoon Oil
- ½ teaspoon Mustard
- 10 Curry leaves
- 1 Red chilli
wash and soak the green gram minimum 3 hours.
After that, drain water and add fresh water be just to immerse the green gram.
Pressure cook it with salt in medium flame for 3 whistles.
Heat a pan with oil and temper with mustard, red chillies and curry leaves.
Add the cooked green gram and give it a stir till the moisture evaporates.
After that add powdered jaggery. Stir until the jaggery blends well.
Finally add the coconut and stir for a minute.
- Soaking time varies from minimum 3 hours to overnight.
- Wash the green gram well and look for any impurities. At times stones will be there.
