Paneer Bhurji Recipe

Paneer bhurji is one of the easiest paneer recipes that can be made with less effort and time. This scrambled Indian cottage cheese is beginner friendly recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Paneer 200 - 250 grams
  • 2 Onion
  • 1 Capsicum
  • 2 Green chilli
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander
  • ½ teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • ½ teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoon Coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespoon Milk optional

Instructions

  • Soak paneer cubes in hot water firstly. After 15 to 20 minutes, drain water completely.
  • Crumble the paneer finely with hands secondly or grate it if using as block.
  • Heat a pan thirdly with oil. Temper with cumin followed by ginger, green chilli.
  • After that, add finely chopped onion.
  • Fry until it gets translucent.
  • Furthermore, add chopped capsicum and cook for a minute.
  • In goes all spice powders and give it a fry quickly.
  • Now, add scrambled paneer and required salt.
  • Mix well in medium flame. Smash any large pieces if any.
  • After 2 minutes, switch off flame and add lemon juice.
  • Finally add coriander leaves for garnishing.

Notes

  • Fresh paneer gives best results. Frozen works but make sure to use a good quality one otherwise it may turn dry.
  • Best when had hot.
  • You can add milk if it feels too dry and you want moist bhurji.
