  • 6 Bread slices
  • ¾ cup Besan
  • ½ Onion
  • 2 tablespoon Capsicum chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato chopped
  • 2 Green chilli
  • 4 tablespoon Coriander leaves chopped
  • Asafoetida - a pinch optional
  • ¼ teaspoon Ajwain Cumin seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric
  • Salt - as needed
  • Oil/ ghee - as needed

  • Firstly mince onion, capsicum, deseeded tomato, green chilli, coriander leaves.
  • Secondly, in a mixing bowl, take besan and all chopped items.
  • Then, add salt, ajwain/ cumin, turmeric, asafoetida and mix well.
  • After that pour water little by little to make thick batter.
  • Heat tawa, drizzle a teaspoon of oil. Spread the prepared batter as thin coating to the bread.
  • Then invert the bread carefully to the tawa so that batter spread side is down.
  • Furthermore, let it cook in medium flame while pressing gently with a spatula on top.
  • Once the besan batter is cooked, spread the batter over the top side too.
  • Drizzle oil over and flip. Cook 30 more seconds or until the toast turns golden.

Cook in medium flame for good results.
recommend iron tawa/ pan or atleast heavy bottomed pan.
Do not make the batter too thick.
You can also dip the bread slice instead of spreading. I prefer spreading as it is less messy.
Add shredded cabbage, carrot or even crumbled paneer to the batter for adding nutrition.
But besan should always be more.
